Action packed right from the start to the very end.....
1 of 1 found this helpful I thoroughly enjoyed the "Silence of the Lambs" and "Red Dragon" by Thomas Harris so I bought the book to continue the series.
I do not particularly like alot of violence, gore, pain, and suffering, either on a screen or to read about it in a book, as I visualize everything I read. But I enjoyed Hannibal's intelligence. Thomas Harris was able to create real, believeable, and viable characters. I found this book very hard to put down, as I wanted to know what was going to happen next, I did not want to be left "hanging" until I could pick the book up again. But to be honest, there was a place in the book that was so very intense that I had to put the book down. Go into another room. Give myself a breather before I could pick it up again and continue on with the onslaught.
I will read the book again, and I have also ordered the movie, but I cannot picture the movie can be as intense as the book unless the movie is just filled with violence and gore and no plot. The plot was excellent, and it kept me guessing ALL the way to the end, actually through the end. The book ending was a total surprise. I never expected it. Rather shocking actually.
I would not recommend this book for the younger reader due to the violence contained within it. Or for the faint of heart. But a very good read otherwise.
So, to anyone who enjoyed the "Silence of the Lambs" you would be amiss not to read "Hannibal".
