This unit does increase power somewhat.
This unit does increase power somewhat but I had some pinging on acceleration in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear. I cannot blame the unit totally but I dialed it back to a setting of 4 initial and 4 advance and still had pinging. The unit also made my speedo needle move intermittently and got a trouble code. Contacted Daytona Twin Tech and had to ship the unit back to DTT at my expense for them to troubleshoot the unit. They said the unit was good but sent me a new one back.
The asked if I might have a short in my electrical system which I did not. I never had any issues with my bike before I installed the DTT unit. I still have to install the new unit to see if things have improved. I think that it is ridiculous that you spend around $300.00 for this unit and still have to buy a separate USB module to tweak the unit to work with a basically stock TC 88. If you dial it back to 3 and 3 then what is the point because performance falls off and you are no better than the OEM ignition module.
I might update this review after I install the new unit but if it acts like the first one then I have wasted my money and will put the OEM one back on and be done with it.
