An OK Book on Healthy Habits
This book has some good information on healthy living habits, eating habits, and spiritual habits. However, it does have some bias in the areas of doctrine from the writer, who is Seventh Day Adventist, and it has a lot of opinions that are not documented from a nutritionist point of view.
I would say it is a good source to get some ideas on health, but not to base a healthy living plan on without adding some other books to balance the ideas presented.

Patty Duke as Hellen Keller in Miracle Worker
I had this movie and bought a copy for my grandkids. I wanted them to watch this true story and see how someone like Hellen Keller and her teacher both rose over seemingly impossible circumstances to change their lives. Today too many kids think everything should be easy, and this story is inspiring and instructive. The acting is also very good, though the special effects aren't as amazing as they are these days.

Prentice Hall Algebra 1 1990 is OK but not great
The book is average in methodology and starts at an easy point to go on to harder parts of algebra. However, it doesn't give a lot of different practice for each subject, so you need to have a workbook or extra study.
Unfortunately, there aren't any workbooks that follow along exactly in the same areas taught. I think what irritates me about teaching homeschool Algebra in general is every book (from different publishers) teaches it from a different place and skips around differently from what the other books teach.
Algebra 1, as other subjects, needs to be standardized so all the books teach the same concepts in the same order so students don't get confused and a teacher can buy any workbook and it will be usable with the book. This one (1990) is OK other than that, but the updated version is possibly better.
