Outstanding Performances by Oldman and Webb
Loved the acting by Oldman and Webb, two of the best screen performances you'll EVER see. Please note that you needn't like punk rock or the music of the Sex Pistols to enjoy this film, which is a rivetting and realistic love story about two very dysfunctional people thrown into the public eye. Musical score by Joe Strummer of The Clash was also great and captured the spirit of the time. The only thing I disliked was how Sex Pistols Manager Malcolm McLaren and all the other Sex Pistols (especially Johnny Rotten) were completely distorted in one-dimensional caricatures, but as the title suggests, this film wasn't supposed to be about them.

The Definitive Collection from the Originator of Punk
Richard Hell (nee Richard Meyers) was the American originator of Punk. Malcolm McLaren begged Richard to go to London and when he declined, Malcolm used Richard Hell as the model for the Sex Pistols and the entire UK Punk movement. This native son of Kentucky traveled a la Kerouac to Greenwich Village with his boarding school pal Tom Miller (who became Tom Verlaine) and lived out their dream of becoming rock stars. This CD has it all, from their collaboration as Television, to Richard's stint with ex-NY Dolls Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan as the Heartbreakers, to his solo career with former Lou Reed guitarist Robert Quine and future Ramones drummer Marc Bell as the Voidoids and his lesser known later work with the Dim Stars. Richard went back to the vaults and remastered even better versions of his Punk classics than the ones originally pressed onto vinyl. Lost and some never released treasures are beautifully rendered. The Dim Stars' "Baby Huey" written in protest to the first Gulf War is even more eerie and affecting today. Take it from someone who was there with him in the mid-70's, this CD captures the originality and excitement that made Richard Hell and CBGB's legendary.

Makes fun of elderly people. Very uncool.
The trailer and opening number are enticing but it goes straight downhill from there. Feels like elderly people being ridiculed and made fun of. Not cool. We turned it off before it even ended.
