An impressive professional CD player
The Technics SL-P1200 is built like a tank. Weighing in at 35 lbs, this thing is solid! Very easy to use, extremely quick loading CDs and skipping songs, all buttons and functions are ergonomically right. It's a pleasure to use and the sound quality is amazing for a 35 year old machine. If you can find one that works - I'd recommend you buy it.

A great successor to the legendary Technics 1200 line
3 of 4 found this helpful I have upgraded from a 1210 MK3 to the 1200 MK7. The main difference I noticed right out of the box is a lower floor noise. It seems that the new motor is quiet while being more powerful than my previous model. The MK7 is gorgeous to look at being all black, including the tone arm, and I after switching the lighting to blue (easy adjustment) it's even better looking.
A few notes I'd like to make - I'm a little divided on not having hinges at all. I like the ease of lifting the dust cover and placing an album vs. having to find room to place the dust cover. Also, the feel of the material is a little cheaper vs. the older models. The Start/Stop button feels a little flimsy and not as smooth.
But, having the option to play 78's and play records backwards? Super cool!
overall - It's a bit expensive but it's gorgeous and should last a long time. I will be using it at home, not DJ'ing.

Probably the best sounding Joshua Tree CD
Back in the 90's I had a copy of it that I bought for $15, thinking that was a ripoff. I didn't hear any difference so I sold it. Fast forward to 2017 and I got a copy for way more than $15...
But playing it on a high end system does make a difference. It's warmer, it's just more natural. In my opinion is sounds better than the 20th anniversary reissue (they used the same reissue for the 30th).
If you're a fan and you can find it at a reasonable price, do yourself a favor and get a copy.
